As part of our ongoing partnership with Herzing College in Ottawa, Retire-At-Home contributes money each year for four awards going to students in the Personal Support Worker (PSW) program.
These awards include an Award of Merit and three scholarships which are awarded to students who excel in their studies during PSW program. These prizes are awarded to students based on their attendance, grade point average, classroom interaction, overall evaluation, and internship performance.
Retire-At-Home has employed many graduates from the Herzing College PSW program since its inception and felt it appropriate to give back to the college and its students. The educational programs conducted at Herzing College are aptly geared to suit the emerging needs of society, and as such Herzing Graduates are highly successful in their job search.
These awards are presented annually at the Herzing College graduation ceremony. In May 2008, Retire-At-Home also presented Herzing College with the Community Education Partnership Award for the excellent community education services extended to its health care employees.
As part of our ongoing partnership, Herzing College has generously donated the use of their facilities to Retire-At-Home where the company’s annual Health and Safety Inservice for employees is conducted. |
