Retire-At-Home’s Judy Heron is recognized for her Excellence in Care and Professionalism
Ottawa, Ontario – On October 12, 2005 - the Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) recognized Judy Heron, a case manager at Retire-At-Home, for her contribution in the community in exemplifying the highest standards for care and professionalism.
People gathered at the Ottawa CCAC to celebrate excellence in our community. “We are very pleased and not surprised that Judy received this award.” Irene, Founder of Retire-At-Home commented. “She has always gone beyond her call-of-duty to ensure that people are well both physically and emotionally.”
Her sincere commitment to the well-being of her clients can be seen in countless examples of going beyond the “official” scope of her position. She has coordinated the adoption of pets for clients, invited clients into her home for holiday dinners when they had no family members, and on several occasions has taken a direct caregiver role when the substitution of a caregiver would have been too traumatic on the client.
For many of her clients, Judy is not just their care supervisor, but also a good friend and trusted confidant. She has an amazing capacity to put people at ease with her sincerity and compassion, and her commitment to providing the very best in care is not just part of her job, but rather, part of who she is as an individual. |
