Dear Irene,
I wanted to write to thank you for including us on your mailing list for your Choices newsletter. This is an excellent and very informative publication and I look forward to reading each issue.
I also wanted to mention that it has been a pleasure to be able to refer your organization to people over the years, knowing that we could do it with complete confidence.
We have both always strongly believed that your compassion, intelligence, maturity and wisdom would allow you to always act in the best interests of the many diverse clients that you serve.
Congratulations to you and Retire-At-Home. We wish you many more years of successfully heading a very caring, professionally managed and worthwhile company.
Best regards,
Kay
Dear Retire-At-Home,
I just want to thank you properly for the excellent service you gave me in providing such consistently top-notch caregivers for my father, sometimes on very short notice, since I started dealing with Retire-At-Home last October. You were always accomodating, inifinitely pleasant, helpful and supportive, swift to get return my calls, very good at letting me know promptly if your PSWs had any concerns about my father, and you provided me with PSWs who took excellent care of my father and in whom I had a lot of confidence. I am very, very grateful for all of it.
I also want to mention that I have dealt with other caregiving organizations that are similar to Retire-At-Home over this past year and I have to say that the service I received at Retire-At-Home, in every possible way, was the best of all. I will be recommending Retire-At-Home to anyone who asks my opinion on the subject.
Thank you very much for everything!
Jennifer
Dear Irene,
Since Kae died in October, I felt I should write you and express my personal appreciation. I am finally acting on my intention.
I can still remember the day you rang at Kae’s door shortly after the death of her son. I was visiting at the time and you dropped by at the suggestion of a friend. What a lucky day it turned out to be for Kae! Finally, someone had arrived who had concrete and practical care suggestions to improve the quality of her life, now that she was basically all alone, except for the few concerned and well-intentioned friends of her son. Thankfully, both of them had the good sense to retain the services of your company, Retire-At-Home Services, to ensure her continued health and safety in her own home.
Over the past 11 years, what you delivered was so much more than just competent and professional care. During that time, not only did your personnel give Kae the best possible care, but more importantly they gave her love, in one form or another, and that definitely ensured her longevity. I know I am stating the obvious, but I am convinced that Kae would not have lived that long had she ended up in a nursing home. All of a sudden, Kae found herself with quite a few “adoptive daughters and grand-daughters” that genuinely cared about her. As you have said, for a lady who was now all alone in life, she found herself quite an extended and wonderful family!
The depth of caring of your organization was further demonstrated at Kae’s memorial by the attendance of many of your staff who had looked after her over the years. On that day, Karen and Lynda each delivered a beautifully written and very personal eulogy. I am thankful to them for giving us such a vivid portrait of Kae, and to Judy for sending me the transcripts which I am holding for keepsake.
I believe that 11 years is a very long and enduring commitment and you have never once failed her. Again, please accept my personal gratitude for all that was done for Kae in her final years, through you and your excellent organization.
Sincerely,
Louise
Dear Retire-At-Home,
I just can’t thank you enough!
You were so amazing during this difficult period in my life. I can’t thank-you enough for helping me through it knowing it would be your smiling face greeting me in the morning made getting out of bed more bearable. You went above and beyond what was asked of you and you are a wonder at your job. Don’t change, it was a great pleasure knowing you. I wish you all the best.
Thank you for your kindness,
Ariana.
To the Retire-At-Home team,
Thanks so much for all the help and support you’ve given us with Richard and Emmy. Even in the short time we’ve dealt with you you’ve shown us kindness, patience and compassion.
You made our lives easier to bear and for that we’re forever grateful.
Thanks
Bob & Linda
Dear Irene,
After years of being cared for by the staff at Retire-At-Home, we have successfully moved my grandmother home to Calgary.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Retire-At-Home, who has been so supportive over the last several years. The care and support provided made it possible for her to live at her own home up to 96 years of age. This is no small feat!
I especially want to acknowledge the outstanding care provided by Lisa. Although my grandmothers’ dementia made her sometimes difficult to deal with, Lisa has always been understanding. She often went far beyond the basic requirements of the job and provided extra support when family could not be there when needed. It brought great comfort to her and our family to know that Lisa would visit every day without fail.
On behalf of my grandmother and family, please accept my sincere appreciation and thanks.
Yours sincerely,
David
Dear Irene,
Your staff were so helpful and efficient when my father needed attention in the QCH recently. Unfortunately he passed away on the 27th, but my mother and I had peace of mind on that weekend, that he was safe.
Thank you
Tanya
Dear Retire-At-Home:
Our family wishes to thank you and your staff for the good care and support provided to our Dan during his illness. Your support took a big weight off my shoulders by making it possible to keep Dan at home when he was unable to walk, and then continue his care as his condition worsened.
All of the staff were very professional, friendly and caring. I was particularly impressed that they always greeted Dan and said goodbye to him as they left. They always took the time and asked him directly how he was feeling and asked if there was anything they could do to help. The personnel were clean and neat and the newer ones were always anxious to lean and make things easier for me, always helping with the housework to the point of being spoiled.
Please pass along my thanks to your staff and let them know that their kindness and support will long be remembered by the family, who send their heartfelt thanks to you.
Sincerely,
Rita, Maureen, Tom & Jim.
Dear Irene,
Just a note to let you know how much our family appreciated your palliative care services over the last few months. Because of you and your staff, our dad was able to pass away peacefully at home at the age of 95.
He did not seem happy in his retirement residence so my brother and sister in-law decided to take Dad home with them. The week before the planned move Dad was rushed to the hospital with synosis – shortly thereafter he had to have a toe amputated, later a knee operated on. Several infections required courses of antibiotics. Then he developed C. Difficile. It was just on thing after another. Finally a diagnosis of lung cancer. It wasn’t till September we were finally able to bring him home.
He had been looking forward to this all summer therefore he was so happy to be home. He required 24-hour nursing and it was only with the aid of your organization we were able to care for him.
Each nurse quickly established a professional, caring and friendly rapport not only with Dad but the rest of the family as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your services. It is obvious your staff enjoy making their patients comfortable and happy. All the little extras – foot care, nail care, massage, back rubs, etc. Irene, at our fist meeting, we were so impressed with your compassion and competence. I would highly recommend your services to anyone requiring palliative care.
Sincerely,
Lorna
Dear Retire-At-Home,
Thank you for providing such good caregivers to my mother for the last many years. The first long term caregiver you sent, served my mother with exceptional care for many years. Finally, and for more than the last two years, you sent Priyanga, who served our family with care and loyalty.
Priyanga is kind and caring; my mother loved her. She was absolutely trustworthy in every way – honest, responsible, always there and always on time. Priyanga always does her best and immediately calls family, employers or staff if she has any doubts about a situation. Her professional conduct and generous nature was appreciated, not just by our family, but also the other families and residents of Villa Marconi Long Term Care facility. Susan looked after my mother when she needed very demanding physical care, which she never hesitated to provide in a safe and gentle manner. Please extend our sincere thank you to her.
Thank you for the lovely sympathy card which you sent to our family after my mother passed away in December.
Sincerely,
Nancy |
