Bath or Shower – In your Tub
Your Caregiver will help you bathe or shower at any time you request and ensure you are clean and ready for the day.
This service may include:
- Discussing your requests for this service.
- Check your shower for safety and cleanliness, including grab bars and ventilation.
- Place your clean clothing in bathroom.
- Explain the procedure of bathing to you for safety precautions.
- Assist you in and out of the tub safely.
- Give you as much privacy as is safely permitted.
- Assist you with drying those body areas difficult to reach.
- Assist you with applying lotion and/or powder as required.
- Help you to dress as needed.
- Assist you out of the bathroom to your bed or chair.
- Clean the shower and bathroom afterwards.
- Remove all used linen and used supplies and put it in the proper place.

Bath – Self-Help Sponge Bath
If you can not get into the tub or shower, your Caregiver will help you to participate with your own personal care by providing a sponge bath in a comfortable, safe area and ensure you are properly clean and comfortable for the day.
This service may include:
- Discussing your requests for this service.
- Setting up in the bathroom, kitchen, or at the bedside.
- Help you to get in a comfortable position for the bath and ensuring everything is in reach for you.
- Assist you to undress and cover you with bath blanket or towel.
- Assist you to wash, rinse and dry and change water as needed.
- Wash your feet by placing a basin on the floor with warm water.
- Help you stand and wash, rinse and dry back areas
- Assist you with applying lotion and/or powder as required.
- Assist you to dress and get comfortable.
- Clean and tidy up the bath area.
- Remove all used linen and used supplies and put it in the proper place.
