Retire-At-Home, Victoria, has been providing care and support for my father-in-law for over seven months now. He is 92 years old with dementia and deteriorating physical health. He refuses to consider a senior residence and insists on remaining in his home. He can be very difficult to manage as he is very particular, demanding, and can be argumentative and obstinate. He will let people go with little provocation. Retire-At-Home, Victoria, has provided a variety of services including personal care, house-keeping, cooking meals, and companionship as well as taking my father-in-law to doctor and dental appointments, trips to have his hearing aids and glasses repaired, shopping and outings. They monitor and have set up a system to check and make sure that my father-in-law is taking his medication and is eating adequate meals. Denise Deveau, the case manager, has been fantastic in keeping us up to date as to how he is doing, pointing out concerns, providing suggestions and resources, meeting with my father-in-law to problem-solve any issues, and liaising with other agencies on his behalf. The care-givers have been wonderful. This has provided us with great peace-of-mind that he is well looked after and we would not hesitate to recommend Retire-At-Home, Victoria, Services to anyone.
